Projet Anastasis en images : visite à Munich - Visit of Munich

After the stay of Jean and Beatrice in Strasbourg, Jean is leaving, alone this time, for a quick trip to Munich.

In order to describe proprely the spots of his novels, Jacques goes to these spots himself. At least, most of the time. No exception for Munich.
So by cold and rainy november days, he took me to this charming city for a short couple getaway.
Well, though it was a nice city, it was hard to say that it was really romantic, with heavy rain and freezing temperatures.

However, it was an interesting city. And we took a guided tour showing the growth of national socialism. The tour was illustrated with all the buildings and restaurants which existed at that time and played a role in History.
And later, of course (we are French, aren't we?), the discovery of bavarian local food. Not a very sophisticated cuisine, but still delicious.

Close from the town center, it is possible to visit the Dachau concentration camp. We chose to avoid the visit. Two weeks earlier, we had visited the Struthof-Natzweiler concentration camp, which is mentioned in the story. Though quite small compared to the Dachau camp, the visit was really moving, and we were not ready for a second experience.
November 2013 was definitely romantic :)

But let's go back to Anastasis Project. Jean goes to Munich in order to meet a nazi specialist, Erika. And thanks to her, he makes capital discoveries.

At his arrival, Jean exits the subway at Marienplatz: a large city square in the city center with a nice townhall.

It is quite surprising in Munich to see all these shops selling traditionnal clothes. What is even more surprising is to see that many people really wear them.

Very famous restaurant/brewery in Munich: the Hofbrauhaus. Inside, huge reception rooms, hearty food, beer and traditionnal music groups.
These rooms were historical witnesses, as Hitler organised a few meetings there.

And in the evening, Erika takes Jean to a typical Bavarian restaurant. A dish for two, which could also feed six.

Next step of the trip, the village of Andlau, the village of Beatrice's grand father: Lucien.

À bientôt pour de nouvelles aventures.
I hope you enjoyed the visit.
